Boys Like Girls

The LG ecoMobilization Cell Phone Recycling Contest culminated with a private concert with top rock group Boys Like Girls at the winning school, Miami Palmetto High School located outside Miami, Florida.

Thanks to our Top 10 schools, together you collected and recycled over 8,000 cell phones and accessories. To put that in perspective – the energy saved by recycling 8,000 cell phones is enough to power a laptop for 40 years.

Not only did you help make a positive impact, but many of you are using your rewards to do even more good:

Atascocita High School

is sending a student group to South Africa to set-up "JoJo Jugs" to help supply clean water to local communities.

Miami Palmetto High School

is sponsoring a student group at Envirothon and is looking into investing in motion sensor lights.

Neuqua Valley High School

plans to install solar panels.

Pasadena Memorial High School

is going to plant a sustainable garden.
